Released console (time?) Exclusively for Playstation 5.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was originally released for PS4, before taking the step to PS5 (and PC). Recently revealed Final Fantasy VII Rebirththe second part of three in Remakesaga, however, will not be released for Playstation 4. An expected decision, and in an interview with Japanese Gamer (via Gematsu) further develops the Yoshinori Kitase decision. The PS5’s SSD is highlighted as a factor.
It’s exclusive to Playstation 5 because of the graphical quality, of course, as well as SSD access speed. Since the adventure unfolds in a vast world after the escape from Midgar, loading stress is an extreme bottleneck. We felt we needed the specifications of Playstation 5 to overcome that and travel the world comfortably.
Mark Cerny, the Playstation 5 architect, claimed early on that the SSD would be a real one “game changer”, and claimed that it would fundamentally change the way game developers build their games. The new Xbox consoles also have SSDs, but it is assumed that the remake seven was not released due to time exclusivity.
Well. Rebirth to be released next winter, and who knows Final Fantasy VII know that the game after Midgar opens up really, as we only then reach the world map. Kalm, Chocobo Farm, Mythril Mine, Mt. Corel, Junon, Nibelheim, and so on. Exactly how it is interpreted and how far we reach remains to be seen.
Because there will be a third and final part as well.
