A story, eh??
We are used to it in the shoot ’em up, the story is generally very sketchy, if not downright non-existent. But in Remote Life, it’s totally different, we have the right to a very successful scenario and really very pleasant to follow. No, in fact we’re kidding, the game does make us believe in a scenario bordering on revolutionary, but there’s none of that.
As in any good game of this genre, we stupidly and wisely embody a military officer at the controls of a small warship, responsible for eradicating a warlike race of aliens. Yes, we said it, it’s big classic, but yet a very small difference will come gently disturb all this classicism. Let’s not make the suspense last too long, the detail that will differentiate the scenario from another game of this genre will be the fact completely badass, that we enter squarely into the lair of the bad guys and that we shoot at will on everything that moves. Well, in fact, we got hit, the scenario in this game is no different from any other and that’s a shame. Because we still have some dialogues subtitled in French… Ah!! Wait I am told in the headset that no, despite the fact that the game is well indicated in French on its eS sheetwhoops, there is not the slightest trace of it in the game. Anyway, once again the scenario is completely anecdotal and then in addition, although there are subtitles, these are so small that we need a good magnifying glass to be able to read them and of course translate them. Good but then, if the game does not offer us a good scenario worthy of the name and if it even forgets its translation, what good do we have left in this shoot spatial and bestial?
Elden Ring is for the weak
Be careful that we get along well, the baby of FromSoftware is a very good challenge. But this challenge is not available on our beautiful Switch and then… In fact no, we really don’t care because the only game that really interests us is this famous Remote Lifeand that the Lord of gaming Witness it, the difficulty is present, even too much.
Of course, the game offers us various modes of difficulty. Beware of the little player who cries foul when a mode is offered easy on a good game hard and the mechanics of die ‘n return. If the easy mode is present, it will only have the name. Because yes, noble players adept at struggling to tear their hair violently until they become bald, Remote Life is a real challenge even in easy mode, so when you see that the soft still offers other modes of difficulty, we still have the right to say that the game will last us a good while. Fortunately in our arsenal, we will still have the opportunity to use some very nice missiles.
In addition to a varied arsenal of shots, we will have at our disposal and according to our progress in the game, other ships. Nothing really remarkable, since the latter will have better than speed. But precisely this speed will be our worst enemy. Because as said before, in addition to enemy fire, the impact of objects can also be fatal to us and as much to say the graphics and the layouts of levels that go with it are not going to help us much. But before expanding on this subject, it should be noted that the game gives us a lot of loading times and especially a big bug blocking this famous loading bar, forcing us to restart the game. This bug happens randomly and is fortunately rare, nevertheless, it exists.

Now on to the final leg of our journey, the graphics and soundtrack. For the part of the graphics, let’s not cut corners, the game is beautiful, terribly beautiful. But it’s scary beauty, not scary in the sense, it’s ugly, but in the sense that we have a game presenting us with settings and enemies straight out of the horrifying imagination of the awesome and cult HR Giger. But if we see, this immense artist to whom we owe the design terrible xenomorph in the saga Alien. So arachnophobic friends, do not approach this title because like the famous film Starship Troopersthe enemies appear to be misshapen, glaucous insectoid and spidery species.
Unfortunately for those refractory to this kind of vile creature, and luckily for all the other followers of these critters, the graphics make them almost real. This, we owe it to graphics close to photorealism, finally for spatial environments and at the limit of the organic, we can really say that the rendering is perfect. And remember, this is the work of one man. But for once in a game, the graphics as magnificent as they are, do not really help us in the gameplay and especially for our life bar. Because by dint of moving ten thousand things in all directions, we don’t always know where to really shoot, because let’s remember all the same, the whole universe of the game seems organic and is therefore very close to a survival horror in fashion shoot ’em up. All this profusion of details will also be as many obstacles to our far too fragile vessel.
Alright, come on, if the graphics are sumptuous and terrifying with that visceral, spidery and insectoid horror vibe, what about the soundtrack? Ben there, it’s a bit of a cold shower, it’s not bad, it’s good, but we could have hoped for better and especially more in the theme. Although we are in a shoot ’em upthe graphic atmosphere is all the same very horrifying, yet the soundtrack, well, it is rhythmic and will make our good old basses resonate with its BOOM BOOM in David Guetta style. Well, we’re exaggerating a bit, but it’s true that the sound can clash a bit with the rest of the game.
