A Bergen County man died Saturday after the pickup he was driving collided with a construction backhoe tractor in Paramus, authorities said. The victim, identified Monday only as a 78-year-old Englewood resident, was driving a Ford Ranger north about 5 a.m. in the left lane of Forest Avenue when he struck the backhoe, according to police. The collision caused the Englewood man’s vehicle to spin around.
