IT House reported on June 13 that Samsung Display (Samsung Display) has submitted a trademark application for the “UDR” name to KIPRIS, but did not further explain its meaning. UDR may be related to new dynamic range technology.
Similar to how “HDR” is short for “High Dynamic Range”, UDR can stand for Ultra Dynamic Range.HDR is a display technology that increases the contrast between black and white levels in an image. Essentially, HDR displays offer higher image quality and more vivid contrast. The higher the dynamic range, the closer the image appears to reality.
On the other hand, UDR may be Samsung’s evolution after HDR. So far, it is not known exactly what the UDR stands for. But the trademark was filed by Samsung Display, and the trademark acronym sounds very similar to HDR.
