Diablo IV

Fifth Class: The Necromancer

Let’s get past my disappointment at not seeing a Paladin and on a larger scale, to see the game being limited to five classes when it comes out to accommodate the necromancerpriest of Rathma.

Summon-based class introduced first in Diablo 2 and then in its DLC successor, the Necromancer masters death, curses and, you will see, blood magic.

Title information

Release date

Blizzard confirms the game’s release date for 2023. A daring bet to release the title so quickly (I had personally bet on the end of 2024/beginning of 2025) when you know how much the title is expected at the turn after the Immortal fiasco and the decade-long abandonment of Diablo III.

Character Customization

Boasting the diversity of the peoples of Sanctuary, it is important to Blizzard that everyone can create an avatar as they see fit. If you first choose a class among the five offered between the Barbarian, the Thief, the Druid, the Witch and the Necromancer, you will then discover a character creation tool that Blizzard promises particularly pushed.

But, this customization won’t end here since they matter particularly insist on the diversity of gameplay within each class.

Exploration and MMO aspect

Exploration will take a prominent place in Diablo IV, hence the addition of mounts for example. Responding to a concern of the players, they indicate that every bit of the world of Diablo IV was designed for combat, so don’t expect to cross empty spaces, always according to them.

They take the opportunity to introduce the Bastion mechanics. Initially, these will be places in the hands of the forces of Hell. Liberating these Strongholds will repopulate them with NPCs and collect loot. Clearing these Strongholds will also reveal dungeons, which Blizzard promises to number 150as a bonus with great replayability since it is promised that each time you enter a dungeon, the content and layout of it will be different.

And all that without counting the non-instance bosses…

To perfect the ease of joining your friends, the game will be fully crossplay between all platforms, thus facilitating in particular the areas dedicated to PvP, cursed by Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred. Defeating your enemies in these areas will obviously grant you loot.

Personal opinion: after seeing their management of the MMO aspect in Diablo Immortal, I am very skeptical about the quality of the mechanics which seemed to harm the experience more than it really served it. To monitor.

Endgame

Blizzard promises that the story’s ending will be phenomenal, but that doesn’t mean your adventure ends there. The end of the story is supposed to mark the start of a new adventure: the entry into the endgame.

In the program ? Nightmare Dungeonsdungeons full of stronger and improved enemies. The Tree of Whispers which will assign you non-instance objectives and a bonus system.

Finally, of course, the Paragon system which promises to be reworked for this new opus in our fight against the Underworld!
