With today’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, there was finally more of the SF RPG Starfield seen as nebulous render trailers and panel discussions with artworks. In a 15-minute trailer, Bethesda gave a first impression of the game world.

It was a cross section of many aspects of the game. At the beginning, the character walks across a barren rocky planet with Vasco, his robo companion, who only acts passively. Local fauna was not shot directly, but pirates who had made their own in a research laboratory. Both in the corridors and on the outside of the building things got down to business, including jetpack use.

Then followed a taste of the story and factions. Your alter ego finds a piece of a mysterious artifact and is sent out by the Coaliton faction to find out more about it and scavenge more parts – a good basis, as it requires travel through space. Other factions are also interested in the artifacts, with images showing large-scale futuristic cities.

There were also screens for character creation, skills (which improve with use and challenges completed), and crafting. On planets you will be similar to in Fallout 4 You can build bases – but you also build your own ships.

Creative head Todd Howard announced that Starfield combines the best of the studio’s previous titles and that it should act as a scale monster: There are 1000 fully explorable planets in 100 systems.

Starfield was recently announced to be moving from 11/11/2022 to 2023.
