As part of the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, a new trailer was shown for Studio Wildcard’s successor to Ark: Survival Evolved and survival sandbox game Ark 2, and a later release in 2023 was announced. Part 1 is also available free of charge on Steam until the end of the current week.

Ark 2, the survival sandbox sequel to Studio Wildcard’s 2017 Ark: Survival Evolved, has received a brief new trailer at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. But that wasn’t all, because fans who are looking forward to the next part of the series will have to wait longer than they had hoped: Instead of this year, Ark 2 will now only be released in 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, it will be available for Game Pass on day one on Xbox consoles, PC and cloud.

Not much news about Ark 2 – Part 1 free on Steam for a limited time

The new trailer is only a little longer than a minute and therefore reveals little. Vin Diesel, who also serves as executive producer on the project, plays the protagonist Santiago, who struggles to survive with his loved ones in prehistoric times. In the trailer, he can be seen riding a T-Rex-like dinosaur and trampling on smaller, Velociraptor-like dinosaurs. How the gameplay will develop remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the developers note that players will join forces with legendary heroes and face some mysterious but powerful “dark forces”.

While it’s going to Ark 2 If there is more “bad” news to announce, those interested can currently watch the first part of Studio Wildcard, Ark: Survival Evolved back up for free on Steam. Until June 19 at 7 p.m. the price of the game is reduced by 100 percent. However, the distribution platform notes that the promotion is only valid while stocks last and there are no Steam trading cards for free games from promotions.
