As part of yesterday’s PC Gaming Show 2022, the developers at Nightdive Studios released a new video for the remake of the shooter classic “System Shock”. In addition to fresh details for the playful implementation, dark impressions from the game events are offered.

In the meantime, the developers at Nightdive Studios have been working on the remake of “System Shock” for quite a while, without the studio giving the waiting players a specific release date.

Also in the context of yesterday’s PC Games Show 2022, no further details were given regarding a possible date. However, the people in charge of Nightdive Studios provided us with a fresh video for the remake of “System Shock”, which is more than four minutes long.

The video in question not only gives you gloomy impressions from the game. In addition, the legendary game designer Warren Spector has his say and goes into more detail about the remake of the cult shooter.

Console versions lag behind

As Nightdive Studios announced at the end of April, work on the PC version of the remake is almost complete, while the console implementations will take a little more time. But don’t worry: the console community doesn’t have to wait any longer. Instead, the plan is to release the System Shock remake simultaneously for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S later this year.

“Our goal is always to redesign games to make them look how you remember them, not what they actually looked like when you played them on your 14-inch CRT monitor,” led asked Nightdive Studios about the work on the remake and possible creative liberties.

“Due to the fact that the original game already exists, some of the decisions have already been made for you, right? There are a million different variations of Hamlet, right? But Hamlet ends up winning in none of them. You have certain guidelines from which you cannot deviate.”
