Later this year, Microsoft’s spreadsheet program turns 37 years old and here is a slightly older type of advertising for the program that is part of Microsoft’s Office suite.

The commercial has “only” 30 years on its neck and shows some of the things that could be done with Excel 1992. These are functions that may feel quite basic but which at the time were somewhat revolutionary when it came to spreadsheets.

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It features calculation or computation capabilities, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
