Apple will no longer collaborate with its former chief designer Jony Ive, according to the publication The New York Times. Ive left the company back in 2019, but continued to work with Apple.
After leaving the Cupertinos, Jony Ive founded his own design company LoveFrom – all this time Apple was her main exclusive client. During this time, Ive was responsible for the design of the 24-inch iMac and the Apple Car, among others.
According to the agreement, LoveFrom could not cooperate with Apple’s competitors, which thereby limited the possibility of the company’s development. In addition, according to various sources, several designers left Apple for Quince.
In total, Ive worked for Apple for 30 years. Under his leadership, such major Apple products as the iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac came out, and the designer also oversaw the work on retail stores.
Apple’s design team is currently led by Jeff Williams. Industrial design is led by Evans Hankey, software design is led by Alan Dye.
