Nintendo has acquired the Japanese animation studio Dynamo Pictures and will now rename it Nintendo Pictures.
In a press release, Nintendo writes that Nintendo Pictures will focus on developing Nintendo’s various games into “visual content”, which I assume means movies and TV series. Dynamo Pictures has previously developed computer animations and stop motion stuff for games such as Death Stranding, Persona 5 and Metroid: Other M.
Nintendo has previously made films of, among other things Super Mario Bros. and Pokémon series fix star Pikachu. Next year there will also be a new Super Mario movie where Chris Pratt will play the Italian plumber Mario.
