The future flagship smart watch Samsung Galaxy Watch5 was listed in the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database, from which some of the features of these devices became known.
Three models of Samsung smart watches have appeared in FCC documents – SM-R900, SM-R910 and SM-R920. The first two are the 40mm and 44mm versions of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5, and the last one is the Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
Interestingly, the wireless charger tested in the FCC lab is rated at 10W (5V at 2A). All previous Samsung watches, including the current generation Galaxy Watch4, support 5W charging. Thus, the new smart watch will charge faster than all previous models.
In addition, it became known that the Galaxy Watch5 will receive batteries with a capacity of 276 mAh and 397 mAh for models 40 mm and 44 mm, respectively, and the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will come with a 572 mAh battery.
Samsung is expected to hold a major hardware launch event including the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 10th.
