With the ambition of training young people and talents in metaverse professions, Meta announces the opening of the Metaverse Academy at the start of the next school year. This school dedicated to the metaverse will be launched in collaboration with Simplon.co, which offers training in digital professions.

For the first pilot year and with the cities of Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Nice, the objective is about twenty students per city and per class. The program will be structured around an individual training session of 3 to 6 months, then a second phase of 12 to 18 months alternately in partner companies.

Two professions are first targeted: designer developer specializing in immersive technologies (virtual, augmented and mixed reality) and metaverse, support technician / assistance for the maintenance and deployment of equipment.

For a French metaverse ecosystem

The communication of Meta and the start-up Simplon.co emphasizes inclusion, diversity and new professional opportunities with atypical profiles. The free school benefits from the financial support of Meta, which ensures however that it is not a question of recruiting its future collaborators.

The Metaverse Academy is a first step which will make it possible to anticipate the acceleration of uses and to train the future builders of the metaverse. We want to participate in the creation of a collective metaverse, by creating sustainable jobs for the entire digital ecosystem “, says Laurent Solly, vice-president Southern Europe of Meta.

Last October and to become the company of the metaverse by building the IT platform of the future, Meta announced a plan to create 10,000 new highly qualified jobs in Europe over the next five years.
