Based on current statements from the “Silent Hill – Welcome to Hell” director, Konami is said to intend to relaunch the survival horror game series.
How about the future of the venerable “Silent Hill” series ordered from Konami? There have been numerous rumors surrounding this topic for many months, but the Japanese company remains silent. However, someone who once worked on it himself could have given an insight into the plans that the video game company is pursuing with the brand: filmmaker Christophe Gans. According to him, Konami is planning a relaunch of the “Silent Hill” games.
The Silent Hill franchise is set to be rebooted
Christophe Gans, the director of the film “Silent Hill – Welcome to Hell”, recently gave the French colleagues from JeuxActu a detailed interview, since his work “Pact of the Wolves” will soon be shown again in cinemas in France. In addition, however, Gans also spoke about “Silent Hill”, like Games Insider Dusk Golem, who recently caused a sensation with an extensive leak to the survival horror series ResetEra writes.
According to Gans, Konami intends to remake the “Silent Hill” franchise in the form of video games. Part of these efforts is also the new movie, which the filmmaker talked about in another recent interview. The upcoming film adaptation will “become part of a global strategy. I believe someone on a forum made that conclusion, and they’re absolutely right; in other words, the film is actually part of a whole.”
Gans then explains that Konami has not approached him and his partners to make a new “Silent Hill” film, but that the project is now in the works with Konami’s support and that the Japanese company is “fully committed”. The director also believes “the success of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 reboots, which are wonderful games, has spurred them on. Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s.”
