Apple is reportedly looking to expand its MacBook lineup with a couple of new screen sizes as early as next year. According to Bloomberg, Apple could release a new 15-inch MacBook Air and 12-inch MacBook in 2023, introducing two new additions to the MacBook lineup.

Now that these rumors have spread around the world, what do you think? Would you buy any of these cars?

12″ MacBook vs. 15″ MacBook Air

As for the 15-inch MacBook Air, the news was first reported by reliable display analyst Ross Young back in March. Bloomberg then confirmed the possibility of a 15-inch MacBook Air, saying it could be released as early as spring 2023.

The 15-inch MacBook Air is described as a wider version of the 13.6-inch MacBook Air. Most likely, it will have the same design as the updated MacBook Air M2, which was presented last week at WWDC.

Meanwhile, the 12-inch MacBook reported by Bloomberg could be released sometime in late 2023 or early 2024. It will be the company’s smallest laptop since the beloved (or maybe infamous?) 12-inch MacBook, which was discontinued in 2019.

No other details about the 12-inch MacBook, which is rumored to be released in 2023/2024, are available yet. In fact, we don’t even know for sure if it will just be called “MacBook” or if it will join the “MacBook Air” family.

Sight

I’ve been beating drums for a big-screen MacBook Air for years now. Just earlier this year, I asked Apple to make a 16-inch MacBook Air. I noted that the advent of Apple Silicon and the power and efficiency improvements it brings give Apple a little more flexibility in terms of industrial design choices.

The 12-inch MacBook, 14.1-inch iPad Pro, and 15-inch MacBook Air are all reported to arrive next year, and it seems clear that Apple is indeed taking advantage of the flexibility offered by Apple Silicon. It will be the widest selection of Macs and iPads ever, with spam options across price ranges, screen sizes, and designs.

Personally, I completely agree to buy a 15-inch MacBook Air. I’d buy it right away, no questions asked. While I was a 12-inch MacBook user in its heyday, I don’t think that’s what I’m interested in today.

And you? Would you rather buy a 12″ MacBook or a 15″ MacBook Air with Apple Silicon? Let us know in the poll below and clarify in the comments.
