More than 500 women are suing Uber, claiming they were assaulted by Uber drivers.

The women allege that women have been kidnapped, sexually assaulted, sexually assaulted, raped, wrongfully imprisoned, stalked, harassed or otherwise assaulted in multiple states across the United States. Slater Slater Schulman, which filed the lawsuit on behalf of the women, said about 550 customers have sued Uber and at least 150 others are under active investigation.

Slater Slater Schulman said: “Uber was aware of drivers sexually assaulting and raping female passengers as early as 2014, and eight years later, sexual predators driving for Uber continue to assault passengers, including the plaintiffs who sued Uber in this action. .”

According to a report released by Uber, the company received 3,824 sexual assault reports from 2019 to 2020, covering the five most serious types of assault, a 38% decrease in the number of reports compared to 2017 and 2018. We don’t know if the reduction is due to the pandemic, as the number of riders on rides fell in 2020 and 2021.

Slater Slater Schulman believes that Uber has known about the sexual assault crisis for a long time, but its response has been too slow and not enough, with serious consequences.
