By Raymond Lesniak When I first learned of the gun safety compromise announced by the bipartisan group of U.S. senators, I got angry over its failure to make even the easiest of gun control improvements — increasing the age to purchase assault weapons from 18 to 21. The murderers of 10 people at a grocery store in Buffalo and 19 students and two teachers at an elementary school in Uvalde were both committed by 18-year-olds and many of the attackers who have committed mass shootings in recent years have been that young.
