IT House June 14 news, some Win11 / Win10 users reported a new mysterious update, classified as a quality update, named “Microsoft Bing Service 2.0being pushed via Windows Update.
According to the service description, the Bing Service allows users to retrieve Bing results. Bing can return web and news results in many countries around the world in the user’s language, images and videos.
The service appears to be a service component of Microsoft’s Bing search engine, and the new 2.0 version may improve upon it. Interestingly, when clicking the “Learn More” option next to an update, the Bing search page opens by default instead of the usual release notes page.
After downloading the update, a new “”BingSvc” folder. This folder contains two files, the BGAStartMSI.msi file and the BGAStartMSILauncher.exe file.
Foreign media Deskmodder did further digging through the registry and found more files in the bgaupdate folder:

It has been reported that when running BWCStartMSI.exe,Desktop wallpaper will be replaced with Bing wallpaper.
IT Home has learned that the new Bing Service 2.0 updateDoes not appear in the “Uninstall updates” list, which means it cannot be uninstalled properly. This suggests that Microsoft may not want users to uninstall the update and is expected to roll out the service to more Windows users soon.
