Now all refurbished iPhones come in a minimalist white box:
Only by the sticker on one of the faces you will guess what is in it purple iPhone 12 128 GB.
Starting this week, however, some base iPhone 12s will ship in new boxes. It became known MacRumors. The authors of the publication came across a memo stating that the Forest Stewardship Council certified Apple a new box. In its production, plastic and bleach were completely excluded.
There are no photos of the box yet, but it will probably resemble the Sony WH-1000XM5 retail box in terms of structure:
The current process of replacing packages for iPhone 12 refabs is just a test. However, it can be considered a success, and as a result, Apple will completely abandon plastic and dye for the boxes of all its remanufactured devices.
It also became known from the note that since 2015, Apple has been purposefully reducing the amount of plastic in packaging. In the first year, it was reduced by a record 75%. For 2021, only 4% of plastic is used in the production of all packaging.
