Fantastical, the powerful calendaring app from Flexibits, added a brand new “Fantastical Scheduling” feature earlier this year. This feature allows users to easily manage meeting schedules through items such as Jobs and Offers.

A new update for Fantastical this week expands on this scheduling feature with deeper video conferencing app integration, Break Time support, and more.

One of the most noteworthy new features in today’s Fantastical Scheduling update is support for the new Break Time feature. By default, fantastic scheduling allows others to automatically request appointments, regardless of when your last appointment ended. Break Time solves this problem by allowing you to set a specific time between appointments:

This is where Break Time comes in. Use Break Time to select a time slot before or after a meeting that people are asking you to, so you have a few minutes to freshen up, collect your thoughts, and arrive at your next meeting fully prepared and focused. .

Today’s update also brings better integration with video conferencing applications to the Fantastical Scheduling “Openings” feature. “This means you can now create Openings meeting templates that automatically add conference calls to the timeslots people request from you,” Flexibits explains.

Try setting up different templates for online and face-to-face events, then share the URLs of both templates with your clients or colleagues and let them choose between an in-person meeting or an online meeting.

Finally, Fantastical Scheduling also adds a new “Uptime” view that makes it easier to see the available timeslots:

Your job slots will be clearly marked as ‘Out of reach’ (meaning the slot’s time has passed), ‘Locked’ (when you have a conflict in your calendar that prevents people from requesting that timeslot) or ‘Available’. This will help you understand how people who use your job URL will see your availability and allow you to make adjustments to your schedule if necessary.
