If you’re having trouble accessing Instagram today, it’s not just you. The Meta-owned platform is not currently available to some users around the world, although other people can still access it normally.
Instagram is not available for some users
As reported by a number of users on Twitter, and also confirmed by DownDetector, Instagram went offline around 1 p.m. PT and is still facing outages. The reasons for the crash are unclear at this time, but DownDetector also suggests that the platform is working to fix these issues.
While some users simply experience the slowdown of the Instagram app, others cannot even log into the app. Some Instagram users are also unable to upload new posts to their feed, open stories, or receive and send direct messages.
Other signs that Instagram is down:
Unable to load Activity feed with likes and comments. Unable to comment on posts. The Browse/Search tab does not load or only shows old posts and videos. The search does not return correct results.
