Samsung will shut down LCD panel production in the first half of the year and fully turn to QD quantum dots and MicroLED displays in the TV field.
In the field of TV LCD panels, BOE has firmly occupied the world’s first position. However, some new attempts are also quietly laid out.
According to media reports,BOE is preparing to put into production five sizes of OLED TV panels covering 55 inches to 95 inches.
According to the report, the 8th-generation production line is located in a northern city and plans to ship 300,000 panels within this year.
In fact, at the SID 2022 conference in May, BOE showed a 95-inch 8K OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a brightness of 800 nits.
Due to the possible burn-in problem of OLED, only LG has devoted the most energy. According to Omdia data, in the first quarter of this year, LG’s share in the OLED TV field was as high as 62.2%.
