The Wittpenn Bridge thats links Kearny and Jersey City will be closed this weekend for painting and an adjustment of the lift span machinery, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) said Friday. The work was originally scheduled last week, but was rescheduled due to weather. Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Sunday, Route 7 will be detoured in both directions before the bridge.
