It also brings more quality improvements to the serving stack to ensure reliable updates.Additionally, this update has known issues related to .NET Framework 3.5, but Microsoft has outlined a workaround.

After installing this update, some .NET Framework 3.5 apps may experience issues or fail to open. Affected applications include the use of some optional components in the .NET Framework 3.5, such as Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow (WWF) components.

You can mitigate this problem by re-enabling .NET Framework 3.5 and Windows Communication Foundation in Windows Features. See Control Panel Enable .NET Framework 3.5. Advanced users or IT administrators can do this programmatically by using an elevated command prompt (run as administrator) and running the following command:

dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all

dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-HTTP-Activation

dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-NonHTTP-Activation
