Authorities have identified the 59-year-old woman who drowned in the ocean off Island Beach State Park on Monday night. Elizabeth Treharne, of Toms River, was swimming near Area 22 around 8:20 p.m. when she was swept away, officials said. Treharne was at the beach with her husband but went in the water alone and was likely caught in a rip current, the Coast Guard and State Park Police said Tuesday.
