IT House News on July 16, according to TopGear, Pagani denied that the company had stopped developing electric vehicles and said it was working on finding the right solution.

A Pagani spokesman said that Pagani believes that it is not a good time to launch an electric car. When a car is named Pagani, it must be true to Pagani’s philosophy and be light enough, safe and emotional. Pagani’s electric vehicle team is working with partners to find the right technology to power the company’s future products.

IT House learned that Pagani began to develop electric vehicles in 2018. This week, Pagani said,The company found that an electric car with supercar performance would require a 600kg battery pack, which is more than half the total weight of the Huayra R (1070kg). So building a 1300kg electric supercar is currently out of the question.

Pagani founder Horacio Pagani believes that a supercar needs more than just acceleration. The biggest challenge in building an electric supercar is to make an electric supercar exude the same emotion as a conventional sports car, which Pagani can’t do right now.

In addition, Pagani’s upcoming Huayra successor, internally codenamed C10, will use a twin-turbo V12 engine and offer a manual transmission. The C10 will be officially unveiled in September 2022, and the first 100 models have already been sold to potential customers.

Notably, the European Union announced earlier this month that it would extend the deadline for supercar makers to switch to zero-emission powertrains from 2029 to 2035.
