Anyone who visits the human city of Stormwind as a Dracthyr in WoW Dragonflight should dress warmly. Because the guards obviously don’t feel like visiting dragons at all and announce it loudly. Turalyon is also rather skeptical about the newcomers.

If you do the intro quest series in WoW Dragonflight as a member of the Alliance to join the Dragonscale Expedition, you should be prepared for angry comments from the inhabitants of Stormwind. The guards of the human city in particular find it extremely unpleasant that dragon activity in their city is increasing again.

Beware, there are slight spoilers for the Alliance’s Dragonflight intro quest line!

Stormwind guards call you a “filthy beast”

The WoW Dragonflight alpha has now started and players can already play part of the intro quest line on the side of the alliance. As part of this quest series, we’re going to Stormwind, among other places, to collect members for an expedition to the Dragon Islands. However, the Stormwind guards are not very enthusiastic about this and comment on the increasing dragon activity with the following words (translated by us, editor’s note):

  • I prefer hunting dragons to befriending them.
  • These things will ruin the city!
  • The only good dragon is a dead dragon!

However, the guards react particularly unfriendly if you tackle the quest line as Dracthyr (translated by us, editor’s note):

  • go back home Dirty beast.
  • I can smell those critters from here. Disgusting.
  • You don’t belong here. I’d like to make a nice little trophy out of those horns.

So you see: The residents of Stormwind are not exactly happy that the dragons are once again spreading through their city. But who could blame them after their experiences with the Red Dragons during the second war, Onyxia’s plot and Deathwing’s partial destruction of Stormwind?

Turalyon remains skeptical, too

But the high exarch and commander of the Turalyon alliance remains skeptical about the newcomers. A dialogue between Mathias Shaw and Turalyon unfolds during the Dragonflight intro questline as follows:

  • Turalyon: Spy Master Shaw, it seems the dragons are among us again.
  • Shaw: Yes, Lord Commander. We haven’t seen this level of dragon activity since the cataclysm.
  • Turalyon: I read the SI:7 reports on Black Dragon Onyxia. How she infiltrated Stormwind, disguised as a noblewoman, and how she sowed discord and chaos.
  • Shaw: Indeed. She has planned an elaborate coup to usurp the throne.
  • Turalyon: The Dragon Queen Alexstrasza’s intentions appear honorable. But can we be sure that the same is true of all dragons?
  • Shaw: It’s…wise to be careful. I will set up additional security patrols.
  • Turalyon: We need more than just spies and guards on the city walls. Call on the expertise of our mages. I want a surefire way we can see through the visage the dragons wear.
  • Turalyon: We’ve put too much effort into restoring the strength of the Alliance to see it shattered again. Is that clear, master spy?

Turalyon, too, has his reasons for being skeptical. After all, he spent a lot of time on Draenor and the Twisting Nether without positive interactions with dragons, such as those that took place in Northrend or Pandaria. In addition, his view of what happened with Onyxia shows how skeptical he is about dragons and that he is particularly concerned about her shapeshifting ability.
