343 Industries gave an appointment to its community yesterday for a stream centered on the launch of co-op in Halo Infinite. We were treated to a lot of information on the co-op as well as on the function allowing to replay the missions. But as promised, co-op mode is now available to all Halo Insiders.

Halo Infinite co-op mode now available in beta

If you’ve signed up for Halo Insiders, you can now go to the Xbox Insider app and choose “Halo Infinite – Insider” from the previews you have access to.

The cooperation launched in this new flight test is only online and in beta. Local co-op allowing multiple players to play on the same console will be available later. Here’s what exactly is available in this Halo Infinite online co-op beta.

  • Mission replays are available. You can open the tactical map and select missions to replay
  • Multiplayer, academy or customization are not available in this flight
  • When the leader starts a co-op campaign session, all players in the Fireteam will be prompted to select their save file. Using the selected save files, the Fireteam’s campaign progress is aggregated so that session progress reflects the content that all members have completed. This allows progress made in co-op sessions to be applied to each player’s individual save file.
  • Collectibles, such as Data and Skulls, will appear in co-op sessions if Fireteam members have not collected them in their individual save. Collecting these items in co-op will unlock them for any Fireteam members who haven’t collected them yet. If all players in the session have collected these items, they will not appear or be interactive.
  • Unlocked gear, gear upgrades, and High Value Target (HVT) weapon variants will remain unlocked for individual players in co-op sessions, even if not all Fireteam members have unlocked them yet.
  • This Xbox flight is only available to players who are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass, or players who have purchased the Halo Infinite campaign. To access network co-op, players must also have an active Xbox Live Gold membership, which is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
  • The Steam flight is by invitation only. Check your active flights on Halo Waypoint to see if you’ve received an invite and to see your Steam key. Halo Support is unable to provide Steam keys to players who have not received an invite.

4-way co-op revealed

The livestream available in replay below allows you to discover several segments of gameplay in cooperation. Different members of the studio play 4 in the same game and details concerning the possibilities and other restrictions imposed by the mode are also recalled.

For example, there will be no collision between players, but friendly fire will be activated. The level of difficulty of the enemies will adapt to the level of the players and their number, while it will be possible to move away about 300 meters from each other. We also got a preview of the replay functionality.

Recall that at the same time, a teaser for the Alpha Pack multiplayer event was released. Its launch is scheduled for July 19.
