Evernote, the popular note and task management platform, recently released an update to its iOS app that adds new widgets to the home screen for iPhone and iPad users. According to the company, it was “the third most important request” from users.

There are three different styles of widgets available in the Evernote iOS app. The action bar gives Evernote users quick access to search and shortcuts to create a new note, task, sketch, and take a photo. The note list, as the name suggests, shows a list of your most recent notes, and the task list does the same for tasks you’ve added to the app.

By clicking on any of these actions, users are redirected to the appropriate sections in the Evernote app. While iOS widgets aren’t fully interactive, this should make it easier for Evernote users to access their favorite features without having to find and open the app first.

With new Evernote widgets for iOS, iPhone and iPad users can now store their most important information and view key notes right on their home screen. By clicking on the widget, users launch the application to perform the desired action, allowing them to quickly create and retrieve information.

In 2020, the Evernote app has been completely redesigned from the ground up to enable the company to roll out new features across all platforms. In 2021, Evernote gets a new Home toolbar, as well as support for tasks on iPhone and Mac.

Evernote is available for free on the App Store, although some features require a paid subscription.
