In early June, the long-awaited mobile game Diablo Immortal was released.
At the start, we already talked about the game. In general, the first impressions were very positive, but this feeling disappeared as soon as I got to level 35.
This game is trying very hard to be like its older brother, and it cleverly manages to deceive the players. But closer to the endgame, everything changes dramatically. You can immediately feel the influence of NetEase, which is famous for its experience in uberdonate games.
What is wrong with the game in the end? Yes, everything, in fact.
The most greedy game in the history of Blizzard
It is worth getting to level 35, you will immediately face the need to invest in the game.
From the very first levels, players are already beginning to quietly prepare for the fact that they will have to pay. And literally from the first levels they are flooded with a ton of experience and money. This was already the first bell, but I did not pay much attention to it then.
In Diablo and before, gamers were generously given large rewards for even leveling. But then periodically reminded that the game has a battle pass, a bunch of goodies and bonuses.
Basically, it was expected. After all, the project is spreading across shareware model.
But usually it all depends on the impudence of the developers. There is an excellent Genshin Impact, which also has a lot of donations. But! but but but… You can safely play it without paying for services and other bonuses. No one and nothing prevents you from going through the story and side quests, no particular discomfort.
Blizzard and NetEase have decided to go down the path of maximum greed.
Yes, technically Immortal can be completed without a donation. But you will need for this, as the community considered, approximately $110 thousand!
The fact is that for full leveling, to progress through the story, you need to go to raids and collect legendary gems from them. They drop out in loot boxes, and getting the top ones is a very low chance. This is almost unrealistic even with many hours spent on the project.
Materials for gems are obtained by destroying other gems. In addition, starting from certain levels, duplicates of gems are required. A donator can afford everything at once, but an ordinary player will need long months.
And for this reason, you can play the game ONLY with a donation. Or you will have to spend several hundred hours doing constant grinding. Is this normal? No never.
Why spoil such a good game with a hard donation is completely unclear. Those who need it will always take bonuses for themselves, and the developers “will not be left with a nose.” With the same success, you can talk about some Call of Duty Mobile – the game remains popular due to its addictive gameplay and low entry threshold. Yes, and the donut in the game is not annoying and does not limit the gamer in any way.
In Diablo, however, it becomes a little more difficult to level after level 35, and after 43-44, real hell begins. For subsequent quests, you need 3 or even 4 levels higher, but they don’t really add to strength, you need additional loot, which can only be obtained in legendary raids.
You end up spending all your time doing the same thing over and over and over again – isn’t that crazy?
The donation system is just terrible.
In itself, the device of the donation system drives into quiet horror. Whoever tries to justify her, don’t listen to them.
What is worth only one battle pass. It can be bought only for one character. You calmly swing several heroes of different classes for yourself, and for money you can quickly promote only one.
No seriously. If a person has taken a battle pass, they must have access to it from all their heroes on the entire account.
You also need to clean the donation store. The amount of unnecessary junk in it just rolls over. And the system with gems definitely needs to be redone.
Blizzard has been claiming for months that there will be no need to pay for the equipment. However, this turned out to be a blatant lie, because gems are one of the most important pieces of equipment that directly affect the characteristics of armor and weapons.
Donat really does not affect PvP much. It gives about 10% buffs. However, the very fact that it makes you even 1% stronger than non-donators is very upsetting. Fortunately, there is at least a small balance observance. But the sediment still remained.
Blizzard, change your mind!
You can’t ruin your own game like that. Not just because the whole community complains about the donation system. It’s time to take action, and not just unsubscribe that we are inventing everything.
Make a smaller link to the donation, this will seriously change the rules of the game. And improve the final quality. It worked with Battlefront II, and it should now too.
Although we may not need it. In Russia, the ability to log in from a PC has already been disabled, for the mobile version it is only a matter of time.
