It is known that,Extreme heat is set to hit the country on July 18 and 19, when Britain’s top temperature could hit 40C for the first time. The previous maximum temperature in the UK was 38.7C in 2019.
Temperatures have been rising in most parts of the UK recently. On the 12th, the weather in London in southeastern England was very hot. The green grass on London’s Parliament Square in the past turned into a bare open space this year, and the land even cracked.
The Met Office expects most of England and Wales to reach above 30C this week, with some areas exceeding 35C and even a new high temperature record of 40C this weekend.
The Met Office warned that “an exceptional heatwave will have widespread impacts on people and infrastructure”, meaning healthy people could also be affected and even die, not just high-risk groups.
