The Electronic System Design Alliance, a subsidiary of SEMI, recently released a market statistics report.It shows that the industry-wide revenue reached US$3.5405 billion in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%a record high.

Product and application categories by report:

  • Computer-aided engineering (CAE) revenue rose 14.8% to $1,118.2 million in the quarter;

  • IC physical design and verification revenue fell 7.5% to $631.2 million in the quarter;

  • PCB and multi-chip module (MCM) revenue increased 1.4% to $293.3 million in the quarter;

  • Semiconductor IP revenue increased 23.7% to $1.3765 billion in the quarter;

  • Services revenue rose 22.7% to $121.4 million in the quarter.

From a regional perspective, the Americas region is still the largest market in the industry.The market size in the first quarter of this year reached 1.5227 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%the market volume of the Asia-Pacific region excluding Japan in the first quarter was 1.3203 billion US dollars,Year-on-year growth rate of 13.2%.
