Nowadays, it is not a novelty for game consoles to support a mouse or even a keyboard. Whether it is XSX|S, PS5 or NS, players are allowed to operate with an external mouse. But going back to 28 years ago, when Sony released the first-generation PS console, connecting the mouse to the game console was still a fantasy. Recently, developer Vojtěch Salajka used the Raspberry Pi Pico as a relay to successfully bring mouse support 28 years late to the original PS console. To achieve this modification, users need a cable compatible with the original PS console, and connect the cable to the mini-PFM controlled DC-DC USB 0.9V-5V to 5V DC boost power board to the flashed software Pico. After that, connect the mouse to the Pico to realize mouse operation. After testing, after connecting the mouse, games such as “Command and Conquer”, “Doom”, “Quake 2″ and other games on the original PS host can be played with the mouse. At present, the project software has been open sourced on GitHub, and interested users can check it out. .
