Nova Launcher, one of the oldest and most popular Android launchers, has received a major update to version 8.0.
So far, it is available in beta form, but everyone can already try it out. One of the main innovations was the support for Material You with the adaptation of the interface to the wallpaper installed on the desktop.
Nova Launcher 8.0 is based on Launcher3 from Android 12L and includes fixes to work correctly on devices running Android 13. There are not as many changes in the interface as in the seventh version that was released last year, but they are still there.
For example, the developers have added support for Material You, thanks to which the color palette of the entire interface adapts to the installed wallpaper. In particular, on the main screen, the color of the search bar and the background of the folders change.
Nova Launcher 8.0 has a completely redesigned settings menu that looks like what you can find in smartphones from Google. By the way, the colors from the wallpaper are also used here. Other changes include new desktop gestures and the ability to bottom-align immersive folders.
Nova Launcher users can upgrade to beta 8.0 through the app’s settings. You can download the APK file to install the launcher from official website.
