Stefan Ingves is leaving as Governor of the Riksbank. Erik Thedéen takes over.

After 17 years as Governor of the Riksbank, Stefan Ingves will now leave his post at the turn of the year.

It has been an eventful and stimulating year and a great privilege to lead the Riksbank’s work together with my colleagues in the Executive Board, the General Council and all knowledgeable and committed employees. I have been able to work with the best, both in Sweden and around the world, and I have been involved in making the Riksbank an institution that is considered one of the best in the world of central banks. It has made me very happy, says Stefan Ingves.

Erik Thedéen has been chosen to replace him. Since 2015, he has been Director General of the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
