Various new games for PS4 and PS5 will of course be released next week. Compared to the previous week, the number of new releases has risen significantly from five to 13. You can find out exactly which titles you can look forward to in the following lines.

Century: Age of Ashes (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 19, 2022

It starts with “Century: Age of Ashes”, a free-to-play MMO that has found its way onto current PlayStation consoles after a little over eight months. A playful shooter awaits you here, in which you fly through the air on the back of powerful dragons and compete against an opposing team. Two teams consisting of six players each compete in a match.

There are different game modes to choose from, including Carnage, Gates of Fire and Survival. As is typical for the genre, you can choose from different character classes, each of which has special strengths that you have to use skillfully in battles. As you level up, you’ll gain access to various visual customization options, but these are intended to be purely cosmetic.

Endling: Extinction is Forever (PS4)

Release: July 19, 2022

In the indie adventure “Endling: Extinction is Forever” you take control of the last adult fox on earth. It’s your job to take care of your young ones and make sure they can survive in a cruel and doomed world. You always have to be careful, because every mistake can be the last for your offspring. As the title suggests, death is forever.

In terms of gameplay, the title is a sidescroller where you explore 3D environments. In it you not only have to avoid all kinds of dangers and take care of your little furry balls, but also find new shelters for yourself where you are safe.

Stray (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 19, 2022

One of the most anticipated titles of the coming week, however, is likely to be the adventure game “Stray”, which will be released on consoles exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. As a stray cat, you must travel a cyberpunk world to escape from an ancient, crumbling city.

You must thoroughly explore your surroundings, solve different puzzles and interact with your environment to achieve your big goal. But action should also be offered, because your cat has to defend itself against the dangers around it again and again.

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 20, 2022

With “Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II” a classic of the PlayStation 2 era returns to current consoles. The hit action RPG of yore will be re-released unchanged in terms of story. In the role of your game character you travel a fantasy world, always looking for new adventures. By the way, courageous heroes are urgently needed in the country, because dark forces are already on the rise.

Technically, the cult game is at least slightly revised and now offers 4K resolution, among other things. In addition, the developers confirmed that the co-op mode known from the original will celebrate its comeback on the modern systems.

DreadOut 2 (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 20, 2022

Meanwhile, survival horror fans might enjoy DreadOut 2, which lets you explore an open world and hunt ghosts using your smartphone. However, you shouldn’t expect a deadly serious adventure here, because the makers have already confirmed a hint of trashy high school problems as well as one or the other socially critical comment.

By the way, compared to its predecessor, the latest offshoot should have the edge in all respects. Above all, the fights should play better this time. More specifically, you can defend yourself against the supernatural enemies with various melee weapons. Boss fights should also be waiting for you.

Severed Steel (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 20, 2022

Meanwhile, the first-person shooter “Severed Steel” is much more action-packed, with a special focus on its stunt mechanics. Your character is extremely agile and also uses a bullet time function to your advantage. Your one-handed protagonist is not only adept at fighting, but also extremely fit when it comes to parcours, which is why somersaults and wall runs are no problem for her.

By the way, a special playful trick are the destructible environments: You can pierce walls, shoot plaster from them or shoot huge holes into them – provided your weapon is powerful enough for it. Thanks to a special squad AI, the battles should never feel the same, and if you ever get tired of the pre-designed areas, you can get creative in the level editor.

Bright Memory: Infinite (PS5)

Release: July 21, 2022

Another title that many console gamers are already eagerly awaiting is the fast-paced action game Bright Memory: Infinite, which was released for PC last year. The story takes you to the year 2036, where a mysterious phenomenon can be observed in the sky all over the world, for which science cannot explain. You are sent to get to the bottom of this mystery.

In terms of play, the title comes up with a mix of lead shooter inserts and fast-paced melee attacks in the first-person perspective. With your trusty sword and all sorts of different firearms that support different types of ammo, you wipe the floor with dozens of opponents in a visually stunning way.

Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp (PS4)

Release: July 21, 2022

“Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp” is a significantly revised and expanded new edition of the virtual board game “Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony”. It’s a big crossover game in which various well-known characters from the series finally meet. The heart of the game is the summer camp on Jabberwock Island, which extends over 50 days (50 rounds). A die is used to decide how many squares you can advance.

Depending on the type of space your character lands on, different things happen, such as leveling up or learning new talents. There is also the battle mode, which you can select independently of the board game. Here you build a team of four characters to climb the 200 floors of a skyscraper where all kinds of monsters are already waiting for you. For successful battles you get medals that can be spent in the school shop.

Hell Pie (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 21, 2022

You want to play a 3D platformer again? Then the obscene genre representative “Hell Pie” might be something for you. You play as Nate, the “demon of bad taste” who is given the important task of gathering the ingredients for Satan’s birthday cake. However, Nate has to go to the overworld to collect everything in time. Luckily, his house angel Nugget is there to help our devilish hero.

At first glance, the game might look pretty cute, but you’ll find all sorts of violent characters, drug use, and a whole bunch of obscenities. Playfully hop or swing through the four large levels with the help of your heavenly companion to reach your goal.

Post Void (PS4, PS5)

Release: July 21, 2022

“Post Void” was originally supposed to be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 some time ago, but the release had to be postponed a bit. In this shooter game you run through randomly generated rooms and have to shoot down everything that gets in your way.

It is important not only to pay attention to your surroundings, but also to your utensils. In one hand you hold a severed head that is dripping with a strange yellow liquid. If this is used up, you have lost the game. To prevent this, you have to kill more and more enemies.

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms (PS4)

Release: July 21, 2022

The title already gives it away: In the 2D fighting game “River City Saga: Three Kingdoms” you will find yourself in China at the time of the Three Kingdoms (approx. 208-280 AD). In the game you take on the role of the renegade Kunio, who has returned to cause chaos in the Three Kingdoms. The story of the title, which was developed by the beat ’em up professionals at Arc System Works (“Dragon Ball FighterZ”), is divided into a total of six chapters.

The game also gives you basic information about historical events, such as the famous Battle of Chibi (AD 208). The gameplay naturally puts a big focus on the action. According to the creators, you can expect simple controls, thanks to which you can destroy your opponents with impressive moves and powerful special attacks. You also have ten tactics to choose from, which you must use skillfully.

Aery – Vikings (PS4)

Release: July 22, 2022

If you prefer to relax a bit while playing, then you should take a closer look at “Aery – Vikings”. This is a 3D exploration game in which you, as a bird, embark on a tremendous journey to complete an almost impossible task from the gods.

So you travel the world from a bird’s eye view on your quest for Valhalla and follow a story in which you try to save the Vikings from their fate. You have to do without fights in this title, instead the focus is entirely on relaxed exploration of the 13 levels.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium (PS4)

Release: July 22, 2022

Retro fans should get their money’s worth with the “Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium” game collection, which contains a total of 32 classics from the Japanese video game developer and publisher. Among other things, several “Street Fighter” and “Mega Man” titles are on board, as well as the 2D platformer “SonSon” from 1984, which is included free of charge. So here you get the concentrated load of cult arcade games!

But Capcom didn’t just put the old classics into one collection, they also added some modern convenience features. These include, for example, various optical filters and several new gameplay functions. The latter allow you, for example, to temporarily slow down or rewind time. Furthermore, you now have the option of saving and loading the selected game at any time.

Will you get one of the new games?
