If you scroll through the main page in the Apple Arcade app almost to the very end, you will come across a new section. It’s called Last Time at Apple Arcade. It collected applications that will be removed from the Apple gaming service in the near future.

Here is a list of 15 programs that have been made redundant:

  • Projection: First Light,
  • lifeslide,
  • Various Daylife,
  • earthnight,
  • Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree,
  • Over the Alps
  • Dread Nautical,
  • cardpocalypse,
  • Towaga: Among Shadows,
  • dead end job,
  • Don’t Bug Me!
  • Spelldrifter,
  • spidersaurs,
  • Explottens,
  • BattleSky Brigade: Harpooner.

In my opinion, the selection is non-trivial: usually, unnecessary software is simply deleted, and that’s it, but here they acted differently and reminded users of the service about the “leaving” programs. And earlier, Apple removed games from Arcade, but did it silently and did not notify about upcoming changes.

A few words about the service in general

More than 200 games are available on the Apple Arcade subscription service, monthly use of the service costs 199 rubles. I would not pay separately for Arcade, but occasionally I try local novelties. The reason is simple: Apple Arcade is part of the large Apple One subscription package and comes with other Apple programs at a discount.

According to my feelings, there are no memorable games, basically everything is old, long gone, or very simple and does not pull. Of course, I’m glad that there are no annoying built-in ads, no in-game purchase system – sit down and play until you get bored. But that’s just something and get bored with toys quickly. For example, I was waiting for at least some decent races, put Gear Club Stradale and did not find a reason to love this arcade. I’m not very picky about realism – everything is very beautifully rendered here, there are no questions about the graphic component – but the control is too primitive.

However, there are a lot of children’s games – for kids, for example, there is a great app Crayola Create and Play+ with mini-games, a whole city of creatures and other fun.

Therefore, for parents exhausted by toys with built-in purchases, Apple Arcade can be a salvation – it is easy to entertain a child who is not very demanding on games. But the adults themselves are likely to leave the service unattended.
