The current lowest-end model of the NVIDIA Ampere RTX 30 series is the RTX 3050, which is based on the GA106 core, 2560 CUDA cores, 128-bit 8GB GDDR6 video memory, and consumes 130W.

According to digital blogger @金 Pig upgrade package,The RTX 3050 actually has an OEM version, which is only pre-installed in the whole machine market. It only has 2304 CUDA cores, which is 10% castrated, and uses the GA106 core.

From the design point of view, the card is unpretentious in appearance, square and sharp, with dual fans on the front, and an 8-pin power supply interface on the top.

Interestingly, I checked the official NVIDIA website and found that the RTX 3050 has actually quietly listed this OEM version, which is indeed 2304 CUDA cores. At the same time, the core base frequency is reduced from 1.55GHz to 1.51GHz, and the maximum acceleration frequency is reduced from 1.78GHz to 1.76GHz.

The overall performance loss is estimated to be around 12%.

Other aspects are not castrated, for example, it still supports the seventh-generation NVENC encoder, the fifth-generation NVDEC decoder, 8K output, and four-screen display.
