The announcement of the release of God of War Ragnarok was expected by players to say the least: the second part of the new adventures of Kratos and Atreus promises to be more than epic.
And success is already there since pre-orders have recently been launched for the various editions. We can thus reserve the classic version of the title in physics, but also several collector’s editions.
The most successful edition, called Jötnar, offers the title in downloadable code, a replica of Mjölnir, a dice game, resin statuettes, a steelbook case, a fresco, in-game content, a vinyl of the soundtrack of the title, pins, a fabric card and a ring.
This edition, offered in limited numbers, was displayed at €214… it was displayed, because in a few hours, the stock quickly found a buyer. If many fans of the saga have been there, we also see that scalpers have carved out the lion’s share…
We thus find the edition in question offered at stratospheric prices on resale sites and in particular eBay: some editions are offered at more than 800€, i.e. triple the initial price. This is only the transfer of the reservation, which calls for caution, especially since eBay’s T&Cs do not theoretically allow the sale of products that are not already in the possession of users.
Sony could simply put an end to the situation by deciding to release new stocks of the Jötnar edition, but nothing is certain for the moment.
