Very talkative to sell his book, the former president of Nintendo Of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé, is back in a recent interview with CNET.

One of the highlights of the interview is his thoughts on “mini-consoles” like the NES and SNES mini. When asked if he thinks this style of device will make a comeback, he suggests that Nintendo release more retro titles as part of its digital services (Nintendo Switch Online).

Will he come back? Will there be other physical boxes with legacy content? I do not think so. If I were back at Nintendo for a day, I would focus more on the following questions: How can the company leverage all of its great content and deliver it to the consumer through the online experience Nintendo? That’s what it does… it releases N64 content, it works with other platform holders to release some of that legacy content. But this is where the opportunity lies. Nintendo still has some N64 content to mine. They have GameCube content to exploit, they have Wii content. I see the future of content delivered digitally to you, the consumer, as a growing opportunity that I would like to continue to capitalize on.
