IT House reported on July 19 that Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he had uploaded his brain to the cloud and talked to a virtual version of himself.
Dogecoin DOGE/USD founder Billy Marcus tweeted, “Would you be friends if you could upload your brain to the cloud and talk to a virtual version of yourself?” Musk replied, “I It’s been done,” but Musk didn’t give details.
IT House has learned that Musk may be referring to his neurotechnology company Neuralink, which is working on developing a brain-computer interface. The device will allow computers to turn a person’s thoughts into actionsallowing them to perform actions such as typing just by thinking.
Earlier this year, Fortune reported that, according to Musk, the devices would allow information to travel from the computer back to the brain. Neuralink has not yet been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but Musk has previously said the company plans to begin implanting computer chips in the human brain by 2022. Musk also said the device is important for humans to figure out how to coexist with advanced artificial intelligence.
