IT House reported on June 19 that Tesla and Frito-Lay are preparing to deliver 100 long-awaited Tesla Semi electric vehicles.
Teslarati reports that Tesla has added an active Megacharger to its Frito Lay and PepsiCo factories in Modesto, Calif., in preparation for deliveries.
The charging stations are said to serve up to 100 Tesla Semis, 15 of which are expected to be delivered later this year.
IT House learned that this Tesla electric truck was released as early as 2017, along with the second-generation electric supercar Roadster, but it has been delayed several times. Pre-orders for electric trucks from customers are expected to be delivered to ordinary users next year.
Before that, the company only accepted bulk orders from large companies such as Pepsi and Walmart. In the future, more corporate users will be able to book directly, starting at $150,000. It is reported that if customers order electric trucks, they must pay a deposit of $20,000 (of which $15,000 is paid by wire transfer).
In addition, Teslarati got a photo of the Semi from a user at the Fritolet factory last week. The Tesla Semi is said to be testing in the factory all week. Employees say it’s “coming soon.”
Drive Tesla Canada notes that the Semi charger can provide up to 1 megawatt per vehicle. The Tesla Semi is actually being used to test the Megacharger at the Frito Lay factory, and according to new photos Teslarati has received, Tesla has installed an additional Megacharger.
