In the US, police have arrested two loaders at Miami International Airport and charged them with stealing Apple technology.

Alberto Veru, 50, and William Torres, 55, stole 5 MacBook Pros, 30 AirPods and AirPods, as well as 20 iPhones and charging cables. The damage is estimated at $21,728.35.

The suspects worked for Cargo Handling Airport Services, a subcontractor of the Chilean LATAM Airlines. The theft was caught on CCTV cameras.

According to a police spokesman, the footage shows how workers took two boxes from pallets and put them in a dumpster, which was covered with a protective net. Then they rolled the container against the wall, climbed into it, wrapped the boxes in two large jackets, and exited through the side door with the boxes under their arms.

All equipment belonged to the logistics company DB Schenker and was intended for the company’s offices in Santiago.

Both men are charged with grand larceny and organized fraud. [Local10]
