Harleen Quinzel, later known as Harley Quinn, worked as a therapist at Arkham Asylum. After an initial fascination, she eventually succumbed to the Joker’s bizarre charms and fell into a romantic obsession. This ensured that the once ambitious and highly intelligent woman lost her license to practice medicine and was committed to a mental institution herself because she helped the Joker escape. When she managed to escape from this, she entered into a brief affair with the Joker until he lured her into an avoidable death trap. With the help of Poisen Ivy, Harley survived the attack and developed superhuman powers such as special agility and strength as well as a peculiar immunity to all kinds of poisons due to the serum that was administered to her.
Cosplayer Elly Clutch breathes new life into Harley Quinn
The name Harley Quinn is an allusion to the English word “harlequin”. Accordingly, their clothing is based on the traditional costume of a medieval court jester. Elly Clutch has also taken this design as a model. So her costume shines in the classic black and red of the harlequin.
The young cosplayer also adopted the classic checkered pattern. She combines the classic design with a figure-hugging cut that particularly emphasizes her feminine charms. Her hairstyle, on the other hand, is based on the template from the film “The Suicide Squad”. The long blond hair is tied in two pigtails at the side, each of the pigtails being colored differently, one black, one red, to match the costume.
Will we see more of Harley Quinn soon?
After Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad, fans are wondering when and if they can see the pretty icon back on the big screen. In the near future, DC’s first lineup is films like Black Adam and Aquaman 2, which Harley Quinn most likely won’t appear in.
However, “Gotham City Sirens” has been in the planning for some time, which would be ideal for her return to the cinemas. According to the comic template, Harley Quinn is supposed to team up with Poisen Ivy and Catwoman to bring new wind to Gotham’s streets. However, the project is currently not (yet) in active development, as this has been postponed in favor of Birds of Pray.
