IT House June 19 news, according to TheKoreanCarBlog, Hyundai’s new electric sedan IONIQ 6 may make its world premiere at the Busan Motor Show on July 14.
IONIQ 6 was supposed to debut in March or April, but officials delayed its release. Sources say that Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Co., personally requested adjustments before the electric sedan is ready to go on sale. The changes reportedly include revisions to the front and rear bumpers for a more aerodynamic shape, as well as increasing its range.
According to reports, the IONIQ 6 uses an E-GMP platform shared with the IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6, and will use a 77.4-kWh battery pack, offering a dual-motor model with an output of around 300 hp (224 kW), whether Hyundai will also build An N Performance version that shares its 576 hp (430 kW) electric powertrain with the EV6 GT.
IT House learned that as the second model of the IONIQ series, the probability of the new car being introduced into China is not small in the future. Based on its product design, it may form a competitive relationship with Xpeng P7, BYD Han, NIO ET5 and other models.
