The return to smartphones will begin in August, like almost every year since Samsung organized its Unpacked event at the beginning of the month. The summer edition of 2022 should take place on August 10, according to the leaker Evan Blass always well known. The event will probably be virtual and to be followed live on YouTube (last year, the presentation took place on August 11).
The manufacturer should unveil new foldables, and more specifically new generations of foldable devices: the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 will undoubtedly be on the menu. The updates could be quite minor, these two formats being now well mastered.
The Fold 4, with its “book” design, would benefit fresh Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 12 to 16 GB of RAM, and 256 to 512 GB of storage. The photo unit would have a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 10-megapixel x3 telephoto lens. For the rest, the half-smartphone, half-tablet device would have a 7.6-inch unfolded display and a second 6.2-inch external display, both at 120Hz.
As for the flip smartphone Flip 4, we do not change a winning team either, the machine should however embark a significantly larger battery of 3,600 mAh instead of 3,300 mAh for the Flip 3. Here too, we expect the presence of the latest chip from Qualcomm. Samsung could also announce the Galaxy Watch 5 of which we have a pretty good idea now.
