IT House June 19 news, according to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor and Kia released statistics on the 19th. The sales of new energy vehicles in the first five months of this year totaled 393,509 units, and the cumulative sales exceeded the 3 million mark, reaching 3,006,414 units.

Hyundai and Kia first released new energy vehicles in 2009, launching the Sonata and K5 hybrid versions respectively. From 2009 to May this year, the global cumulative sales of all models of Hyundai-Kia was 93,093,349 units. The proportion of new energy vehicles hovered around 1% until 2016, and began to increase rapidly in 2017, reaching double digits (11%) for the first time last year.

Judging from the cumulative sales volume of various models, hybrid vehicles have the most, with a total of 1,875,270 units sold, accounting for 62.4% of the total. This was followed by electric vehicles (788,936 units, 26.2%), plug-in hybrid vehicles (314,857 units, 10.5%) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (27,351 units, 0.9%).

IT House learned that CleanTechnica recently released the global sales list of electric vehicles in April, and Hyundai-Kia ranked fifth.
