Diablo Immortal seems to be the expected gold mine for Activision Blizzard. As PCGamesN reports, the mobile game grossed around $24 million in its first two weeks.

Only Hearthstone is more successful

For ActivisionBlizzard, these numbers are a big monetary hit. According to PCGamesN, only the virtual trading card game Hearthstone, released in 2014, ranks ahead of the action role-playing game Diablo Immortal from NetEase in Blizzard’s internal mobile ranking.

According to the analysis website AppMagic According to ActivisionBlizzard, most of the approximately 10 million installations come from the USA and South Korea. These markets also account for similar percentages of sales, with the USA clearly leading at around 43%. Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play title monetized through microtransactions.

As we also criticized in our test, Diablo Immortal tends to force players to microtransactions later in the game through increased grind and the elder portals. Many gamers agree, which earned Diablo Immortal a devastating user score of 0.4 on Metacritic.
