Prior to the release of Skull & Bonesat the end of 2022, a large part of the players are wondering what the economic system of the pirate game is, which has seen several rumors mention this subject in recent months.

Is Skull & Bones free-to-play?

A few months before the release, some rumors evoked a drastic change of direction for Skull & Boneswith the consequence, in particular, a free-to-play release. Unfortunately for some, and although the game has evolved, this will not be the case, since Skull & Bones will arrive as a premium game, i.e. paid. Moreover, the selling prices have already been revealed, and are in line with the big productions of Ubisoft.

On PC, the standard version is sold € 59.99, while it will take 20 more on consoles. The logic is the same for the special version, sold for €89.99 on PC and €109.99 on consoles. You can also find the details of the different editions of Skull & Bones in a dedicated guide.

    • Premium Edition → €89.99
  • PlayStation and Xbox

It will thus be necessary to pay a certain sum to take advantage of Skull & Bones upon its release, especially since there is no indication that it will arrive immediately in the Xbox Game Pass.

However, Skull & Bones will be followed over the long term, as the developers have repeatedly indicated that content will roll out post-release, through seasons. Let’s hope that the result is there and that a solid community is created. In any case, the output of Skull & Bones will be on November 8, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series.
