The city of Augsburg is planning emergency matters to make next week’s canoe slalom world championships happen despite low water levels at the venue. Training was suspended earlier in the week because the artificial course is not fed with enough water from the Lech river which according to officials has the lowest water level in decades owing to dry weather. A temporary concrete wall is now to help dam up enough water for the July 26-31 worlds.
